Recycling: Overcoming the global production and destruction of plastic

In 2015, 322 million tonnes of plastic were produced worldwide, but only 30 percent of plastic waste in the European Union was ever collected for recycling. The rest was either sent to landfill (31 percent) or incinerated (39 percent). This global production and destruction cycle of plastic emits 400 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere every year. Winners announced for EIT Food Accelerator Network Programme

The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Food has announced today the winners of its 2019 EIT Food Accelerator Network Programme: Orbem AI, uFraction8 and Trigger Systems. The finalists were invited to compete for three awards, consisting of financial support worth  €100,000 each. The winners were announced today at the EIT Food Venture Summit on 13 November 2019, at Estufia Fria in
